Ask any Washingtonian: Spring is just not Spring without cherry blossoms. This year’s late winter insured that the blossoms would actually be in bloom during the course of the festival and while the weather was less than cooperative, we did see several days of beautiful sunshine.

Most of the shots below were taken with my Canon 70-200mm f/4 IS. It may seem like an odd choice, what with the monuments and tidal basin being positively ringed by beautiful pink blossoms, but I really enjoy shooting the details:
