Cherry Blossoms 2009

The premier spring event in Washington DC is the National Cherry Blossom Festival. Ask any Washingtonian: Spring is just not Spring without cherry blossoms. This year’s late winter insured that the blossoms would actually be in bloom during the course of the festival and while the weather was less than cooperative, we did see several days of beautiful sunshine.

Most of the shots below were taken with my Canon 70-200mm f/4 IS. It may seem like an odd choice, what with the monuments and tidal basin being positively ringed by beautiful pink blossoms, but I really enjoy shooting the details:

New Stuff Coming Soon!

Hola!

A semester of grad school is in the bag and boy what a load of work that was. And while it hasn’t stopped me from shooting, it has greatly slowed down processing and posting. Have no fear – I have a short break before summer classes begin and that means updates are coming! No, really!
